Trying! Yes, I’m Trying | Poem

Martha!

I would call her by this name now,

Not to own her feelings or desires,

Just to feel she is call to my heart.

I would confess here,

I’m trying to get off a bad habit,

I tell you it’s tearing me apart,

Everything is letting me go back,

I’m tired…I’m craving…I’m depressed.

What do I tell her now, Deathra?

She makes me feel abandoned now,

Leaving a part of me,

Which scares the forthcoming truths.

I can’t go back to that habit, Martha,

Stay close and smile to me.
