When I Sleep | Poem

Past times of sleeplessness,

In known fears of past,

Took turns nights and days,

Comfort far away from thoughts,

And,

I was sedated to awake.

Nightmares? Sweet dreams? My world?

Fed of terming everything,

Anxious for numbness,

And,

I couldn’t sleep right.

Explain my insanity!

Explain my sanity!

Couldn’t!

I laugh!

Obsessed; possessed! Addicted,

She calls me only her,

And,

I feel to be with her.

When I sleep; listen,

She makes love to me,

Tear my nerves apart,

Make me scream for more,

Ask me to love her,

Moanings come from us,

And,

I call her death.

When I sleep; understand,

I impose my aliveness,

And,

A war is fought,

Everytime!
